Ungrateful Iraqi Heathens

In a pre-Christmas visit to the Iraqi capitol, American President George W. Bush had two shoes thrown at him by a young Iraqi reporter. The reporter was "expressing his disdain " for the President and the American military in his country. After the shoe-throwing incident the man was hailed a hero all over the Arab world. How soon they forget. In 1990 the entire Middle East was shaking in their sandals after Saddam Hussein invaded and overran Kuwait. It wasn't Allah that saved their camel-riding butts, it was the U.S. ARMY, MARINES, NAVY & AIR FORCE that came to their rescue and restored calm in the region. In 2003 Bush ordered the invasion of Iraq and in short order Saddam's thirty year death grip on that country was over. A fledgling democracy has taken hold and the common citizens of Iraq are beginning to enjoy freedoms and liberties for the first time in decades.

Surely the reporter had forgotten that if he had pulled this stunt only six years ago during Saddam's rule what the consequences would have been. If he hadn't been shot immediately, he would have had to endure the government's torture chambers and eventually executed. His wife, children and all of his family would have been rounded up and raped & tortured before being killed. Saddam Hussein did not tolerate "expression of disagreement". George Bush gave the Iraqi people freedom that they were either unable or unwilling to secure for their self. When President Bush visited their country the Iraqi people should have lined the streets for an opportunity to kiss his feet. I hope these ungrateful people never have to depend on the United States again to free them from slavery. It would appear that they aren't worth one drop of American blood.
