CONGRESSMAN RICK BOUCHER BETRAYS VIRGINIA

Shortly after 7;00 p.m. Friday night June 26, 2009 Rick Boucher (D - VA. ) voted FOR the "Cap & Trade Energy Bill" , officially known as THE AMERICAN CLEAN ENERGY AND SECURITY ACT. Boucher dutifully followed Nancy Pelosi's direction and supported the bill. Boucher is a member of the Global Warming cult and if this bill ever becomes law it will plunge this country into despair and darkness. This bill is an absolute abomination. Furthermore, Rick Boucher can't even tell you what exactly he voted for because no member of Congress read the bill before it was voted on. The bill was over 1,000 pages long in it's original form. Before Friday evening's scheduled vote, House Democrats added amendments totaling 300 more pages to the bill at 3:09 A.M. Friday morning. These amendments were bribes to wavering congressmen who had not yet committed their support.

In simple terms the goal of this bill is to reduce so-called greenhouse gases by penalizing the use of coal and oil products. The Federal government will make these two NATURAL RESOURCES so expensive to use that utilities will be forced to turn to producing energy from renewable scores such as wind and solar. One local example is Tennessee Eastman. Eastman currently uses an average of 60 train car loads of Southwest Virginia coal a day. If coal is forced to an unreasonable cost by the government it could ruin Eastman. Also, T.V.A. (Tennessee Valley Authority) produces 60 % of it's electricity from coal. I hope you enjoy being cold & dark compliments of your government. Boucher's bribe was a promise of 1$ Billion a year in taxpayer's money for the next ten years to be used for "Clean Coal" research in order to develop Carbon Capture technology to place carbon underground after coal is burned.

Here are only a few of the requirements contained in this bill:

Carbon offsets - The American government will pay landowners to either plant new trees OR pay them to not cut down existing trees. America will also pay foreign countries such as Russia, China, Brazil and others to do the same.

Building Codes - The federal government will take control of ALL building codes in this country even down to local towns and counties. Every building code in America will be forced to meet federal standards which will be modeled on restrictive California state codes. ( By the way, California is a disaster and is on the verge of crashing & burning. The state is $24 Billion in debt this year from Liberal spending programs.) Federal inspectors would have to inspect and approve your house before you could sell it. If it doesn't meet their requirments, you would be forced by the federal government to pay for upgrades such as energy efficent light bulbs, appainces, windows, doors and heatpumps.

We must take action to make sure this bill NEVER becomes law. The United States Senate will vote on this same bill later this summer. Senators pay attention to letters, e-mails, faxes and phone calls. I made three calls today. No. 1 was to Rick Boucher's office to tell them I was outraged over his support for this bill. No. 2 & 3 was to Senator Jim Webb (D-VA) & Senator Mark Warner (D-VA) telling them I did not want them to support this bill when it comes before the U.S. Senate. If you wait until the vote nears they will either not answer the phone or the line will be busy for hours. Call now & call often!

If this bill becomes law it will mean the loss of millions of American jobs and an added cost of thousands of dollars to EVERY household in increased utility cost.

If the people don't take a stand, then ' May God have mercy on the United States of America, a weak and ignorant people.'
