The Devil (Freedom From Religion Foundation) is knocking on the door of Hawkins Co. You will have to decide if you are going to take a stand for what is right or roll over and be their door mat. I talked with their home office in Madison , WI today. ( It seems to be their only office, with four paid staff members, although they do have " Free thought" groups in South Carolina & Alabama.) They told me they were challenging the Ten Commandments display in the new Hawkins Co. Justice Center on behalf of a local unreligious resident ( unnamed) who was upset by the county's action.

They also have a lawsuit ongoing in California trying to stop certain pastor's benefits from being tax-exempt.

Different web sites describe them as an organization of Atheist, Agnostics and Free Thinkers.

These people operate just like the ACLU. They win many victories just by making legal threats against poor rural towns, counties and school boards. They count on no resistance.

YOU CAN DISRUPT THESE PEOPLES LIFE!!

Consider giving them a call and telling them you are from Hawkins Co. Tenn. and that you are praying for them. Be nice and don't call unless you mean it. Ask for them by name, Patrick Elliott, Annie Nicol Gaylor, Annie Laurie Gaylor, Dan Barker.

50 Five minute phone calls a day would shut down their phone lines and put them out of business.

History

The FFRF was co-founded by Anne Nicol Gaylor and her daughter, Annie Laurie Gaylor, in 1976 and was incorporated nationally in 1978.[2] It is supported by over 13,000 members.[1] It is operated from an 1855-era building in Madison, Wisconsin that was once a church rectory. The organization has a minimum annual membership fee of $40. According to the 2007 IRS tax Form-990 found on Guidestar.org, the foundation has a fund balance of over $5.5 million (US) and received over $581,000 (US) in membership dues. The foundation uses this money primarily to pay legal fees in cases supporting the separation of church and state that involve governmental entities, but it also has a paid staff of four, distributes advertisements and sends news publications to members.[2]

Annie Laurie Gaylor, co-president of the Freedom from Religion Foundation, is the author of Women Without Superstition: No Gods - No Masters (ISBN 1-877733-09-1) and edits the FFRF newspaper Freethought Today. Her husband, Dan Barker, author of Losing Faith in Faith: From Preacher to Atheist (ISBN 1-877733-07-5) is a musician and songwriter, a former Pentecostal Christian minister, and co-president of the FFRF.

On October 12, 2007, the Freedom From Religion Foundation began its three-day annual conference. Speakers included Christopher Hitchens, Katha Pollitt, Julia Sweeney, Ellery Schempp, and Matthew LaClair. The event, held in Madison, Wisconsin, marked the foundation's 30th annual conference and was attended by more than 650 members.

I am a religous young lady who has a Baptist minister for a father and my family lives like christians and I am appauled at this. I think the atheist need to read a bible and know that there is a wrath of God upon them and if they continue to refuse God and try to force their beliefs Or should I say non-beliefs of our Lord Jesus Christ will someday pay the ultimate price death and a life of living in a true burning hell!! I feel sorry for people like this who dont have a clue what God is about and what they are about to face God is going to take this country back and when he does all of the non believers will pay the price he speaks about in the bible (KJB) For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotton son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life!! Its a shame that they dont believe but I will continue to pray for people like this that God will show them what they are doing is wrong and not to let them dictate how we believe in the United States this is our country and we should not let anyone take it away from us come on America take a stand and take back your country!!! I love my Lord Jesus Christ and will stand for him always!! He saved my soul and I will forever be his child and Im on my way to heaven someday soon!!
