Congressman Griffith,
Congratulations on your re-election to the House of Representatives to represent the 9th district of Virginia.I am probably more conservative than anyone you will ever meet and I appreciate the conservative stand you have taken in your first term. I am asking that you and your fellow conservative congressmen will 'stand in the gap' to help stop the spread of big-government liberalism that is threatening to destroy our nation. Everyone knows all of the cliche's such as ' we don't have a taxing problem, we have a spending problem'. Average working-class Americans such as myself are being brutalized by rising fuel, electricity & food cost, but dropping income and employment opportunities.
Here are just a few common sense suggestions to cut federal spending:
LOW INCOME CELL PHONE PROGRAM - $1.6 BILLION LAST YEAR
- Kill it, people can survive without a government cell phone.
PLANNED PARENTHOOD - $484 MILLION LAST YEAR.
- Kill it, just like P.P killed over 330,000 baby's last year.
FOOD STAMP PROGRAM - $78 BILLION LAST YEAR
- Make drastic cuts. There is no way 47 million Americans must rely on the federal government for food, especially when many of those same people can afford cigarets, tattoos, body piercings & cable TV.It is their responsibility to make food & shelter a priority over non-essential items.
I am sure there are thousands of oppertunities to cut federal spending and even reduce taxes on working Americans.
